Using Google to help you with math

Do you use Google every day? But do you know how to use Google to help you solve math problems?



1. Calculator and unit converter

2. Geometry Calculator

Get to the geometry calculator

  1. Open Google Search.
  2. Search for a formula, like [area of a circle].
  3. Type in the values you know in the box that says Enter value. For example, radius = 1.
  4. Press Enter to see the solution.

Calculate a different value

  1. Open Google Search.
  2. Search for a formula. 
  3. Click the down arrow down arrow next to "Solve for" to choose a different value.

3. Shapes and formulas you can search for

  • Supported shapes: 2 and 3 dimensional curved shapes, platonic solids, polygons, prisms, pyramids, quadrilaterals, and triangles. 
  • Supported formulas and equations: Area, circumference, law of sines and cosines, hypotenuse, perimeter, Pythagorean theorem, surface area, and volume.
